All about the RCA Cables
RCA cables or the Radio Corporation of America cables are used to attach from the RCA connectors which is used to connect audio/video signals. It first came into being in the 1940’s. It was then used in order to connect the phonograph players with large amplifiers.
Gradually, it became popular in the 1950s when many other applications of the RCA cables were found. It literally replaced the conventional jack plugs. The jack plugs were then used in the audio industry. RCA cables and connectors are used to carry a special kind of format. This format is the S/PDIF, which deals with the formatted digital audio. It is colored orange so as to differentiate from other typical connectors. There is a big disadvantage of using RCA cables and connectors.
When a connection has to made, every signal needs a different plug to be connected with. This has been the greatest problem which has to encounter while dealing with the RCA cables and connectors. In spite of these difficulty areas to be dealt with, RCA cables and connectors are used with great zeal. Different color coding has been applied to the consumer products so as to differentiate between the different signals and the connections to be used. Stereo audio applications have different colors for the connectors. Generally, the red-black and the white-black connectors are used for the purpose. The RCA cables are used in loud-speakers, TVs, computers and many other audio devices as they are very easy to use and install. RCA cable and connectors are popular in Europe.
